New for launch: Generative Erase, HDR Merge, and batch editing – features usually associated with professional editing;

One app, one subscription: use Luminar on an Android phone and on a Googlebook with the same account. [If available at launch:] With Continue On, you can start an edit on your phone and finish it on the laptop.

Part of a bigger mission

For Luminar, the collaboration with Google marks an important step in bringing its photo editing experience to a new category of devices. Working closely with Google on the launch of Googlebook gave the Luminar team an opportunity to build for the platform from the start, take advantage of its new capabilities, and deliver an experience designed specifically for Googlebook users.

 “We’re excited to welcome the new laptop category from our partners at Google and bring a high-quality photo editing experience to Googlebook users from day one. Working closely with the Google team, we designed Luminar to make the most of Googlebook OS and bring together the best of both products. We introduced familiar interactions like drag-and-drop, keyboard shortcuts, and more capabilities that go beyond what was previously possible in our mobile and tablet experience. The result is a version of Luminar that feels truly at home making photo editing more natural, intuitive and convenient, while giving photographers more ways to create.” - Ivan Kutanin, CEO of Skylum

Luminar has previously been named Google Play’s Best Multi-Device App of 2025, a recognition that highlighted its exceptional cross-device workflow.
