Luminar Fair Use Policy

This policy covers Luminar's AI features in the Luminar desktop and mobile apps. Luminar for Web is not included yet; separate terms will apply when it launches. This policy is part of our Terms and Conditions.

Unlimited use. Your AI editing is unlimited for your 365-day plan term, counted from the date of purchase. There is no cap on the number of edits or generations, and a large amount of normal, manual editing is always fine.

Fair use of Luminar's AI tools

Your plan includes unlimited AI editing for your own creative work, that's exactly what it's for. Fair use rules exist only to prevent abuse that would affect the service for everyone else. For the vast majority of users, there's nothing to worry about: edit as much as you like, on as many of your own photos as you like.

What's included

• Unlimited AI editing on your own images, for personal or professional photography work
• Using the AI tools as often as you need across your normal editing workflow
• Editing client photos and commercial projects, the results are yours to use

What isn't allowed

To keep the tools fast and available for everyone, a few things fall outside fair use:

• Automated or bulk generation. Running the AI tools through scripts, bots, or automated pipelines, or processing images in large batches to generate output at scale.
• Reselling access. Offering Luminar's AI tools to other people as a paid service, an API, or a "we'll edit your photos" operation built on top of your license.
• Sharing one license across people. Your plan is for you. Multiple people using a single account or license instead of their own isn't permitted.
• Bypassing technical limits. Circumventing, disabling, or working around any security measures, usage safeguards, or technical restrictions in the software.

If you breach this Policy. We contact you first, then temporarily limit the affected feature if it continues, and block access only in serious or repeated cases. You can appeal any decision by contacting us at [email protected].

Changes. We may update these terms over time, but a change never affects a plan you have already bought: for your paid 365-day term, the terms stay as they were when you purchased. Updates apply only from your next renewal or purchase.

After 365 days, you can keep your unlimited AI editing going by renewing or upgrading through Luminar Prime. Either way, your Luminar app, your edits, and every upgrade you unlocked during your subscription stay yours to keep. What needs an active subscription is the unlimited AI editing, the Creative Library, and any new upgrades released after your subscription ends.
